After the hustle and bustle of the holidays and frantically sewing tiny buttons on tiny jackets last week, there are new wee animals in the shop this morning. There is a ballerina fox named after my cousin and a badger dressed in pink and sequins. And to relieve the January Blues, I'm offering 10% off the shop now through January 11th with the coupon code WELCOME2014.
Snow Day
Last night we took the dog for a walk in the snow and the sky was so light and gorgeous and there was so much snow. The trees were unbelievable, all covered in white. While we don't have a snow day from work, it's 17 degrees in Washington this morning and I'm using the snowy roads and unsalted sidewalks as a good reason to take the morning off and finish up some rabbit skirts and catch up on my Showtime.
I hope the trees are as glistening and gorgeous where you are.
Happy New Year!
I slipped away for an amazing week at my parents’ house in Pennsylvania with all five of the McIntosh-Burke siblings, our parents and a quick visit from an aunt and uncle and cousin. We ate our body weight in Christmas cake and gingerbread and I pinched my nieces and nephews' cheeks until they told me to bugger off and all around it was amazing. It always is and I'm always a little surprised by how delightful and magical and different the week at home with family is from regular life. We are back in the city for New Year's and spent yesterday with my brother visiting the Botanic Gardens and its amazing models of Washington landmarks made of branches and pinecones and acorns and leaves. We rung in 2014 binging on Stilton my mother sent back with us and the entire third season of Homeland while I stitched tiny jackets and pants and attached tiny rabbit ears. The shop will be updated with lots of new animals (in TUTUS!) on Monday along with the first sale of 2014.
Happy New Year and may 2014 be everything you wish and more.
xoxo H.
Happy Friday!
It's been a weird week here in DC. David and I are both sick, David has finals, I have a board meeting at work and we got a snow day in the middle of it all. We got the tree and (while David went through his flashcards again) I trimmed the tree and the window and the throw pillows and the dog (before he rejected Christmas and happiness and scratched off his bow). It was a great break from the week even if my throat was sore the whole time.
Our friend Paul also sent us this awesome photo of his daughter Millie with her rabbit and her brother-on-the-way's bear. She looks scrumptious and so happy (those CHEEKS).
I've been listening to the Christmas Wrapping constantly (because I'm the BEST to live with) and have it almost memorized. Christmas karaoke?
Have a wonderful weekend!
